If you are 21 years of age or older you can complete a Compulsory Basic Training Course (CBT)

The CBT is not a test but a training course designed to ensure a basic standard of ability in new riders. Once you have completed your course you will be issued with a DL196 certificate. This certificate lasts for 2 years and will entitle you to ride upto a 125cc Motorcycle.

Once you have completed a CBT you can then progress onto a "Light", "Standard" or "DAS" Motorcycle License Course. A "Light" Motorcycle License will entitle you to ride upto a 125cc without the need to renew your CBT every 2 years. A "Standard" Motorcycle License will entitle you to ride machines upto 33bhp on a 2 year restriction. After 2 years you can then ride any size motorcycle you like. A "DAS" License will give you an unrestricted motorcycle license.

On all License courses you will need to complete a Motorcycle Theory test prior to the course. Licenses consist of 2 practical tests, a "Module 1" and a "Module 2".
