| Types of Full Motorcycle License |
| The most common types of Full Motorcycle Licence courses are known as Direct Access (DAS) or Restricted Access.
A DAS course can be taken by those over the age of 21 and will be taken on a 500cc / 600cc motorcycle. A "Pass" will entitle the individual to ride any size motorcycle.
A Restricted Access course can be taken by anyone over the age of 17 and will be taken on a 125cc motorcycle. A "Pass" will enable the individual to ride any motorcycle upto 33bhp on a two year restriction. After two years the restriction is removed and the individual can ride any size motorcycle.
Other licence courses include "Moped" and "Light Motorcycle". Details of these can be obtained from your local training centre. |
| What is involved |
| To obtain a Full UK Motorcycle Licence both a Module 1 and Module 2 test must be taken and passed. Only once both Modules have been passed is the relevant category added to the licence. Note: A Module 1 must be passed before a Module 2 can be taken. |
| Duration of courses |
UK Motorcycle Training Centres offer "standard" or "short" courses but can also tailor courses to suit the needs of individuals.
A "standard" course consists of three days per Module. Two of those days will be intensive training with pre-test training and test on the third day.
A "short" course consists of two days per Module, The first day will be and intensive training day with pre-test training and test on the second day.

| Re-Tests |
| If a student fails a test, either a Module 1 or Module 2, then a re-test can be arranged by your local training school. Additional Fees may be applicable. Your local training centre will have more details. |
